Half the reason a customer walks into a specialty store is the bench at the back. A work order in PHP Point Of Sale starts the way a sale does. Find the customer, add the service, and take the item in. Services are catalog items, so a boot resole, a ski tune or a pack repair has a price, a cost and a margin like anything else on your shelves. The job then carries what your technician needs: a status, notes about the work, an estimate split between parts and labor, a promised date and a photo if it helps.
The board shows the whole workshop at a glance: what's waiting, what's in progress, what's out for repair and what's ready to collect. Statuses are yours to define, and a status change can email or text the customer, which removes most of the phone calls a workshop fields in a week. When the work is done, the job becomes the sale, with parts and labor on the same receipt. And because it's all one system, your service revenue shows up in the same reports as your retail.
